This project is a collaboration between the Nanomaterials Lab at Swansea University, which covers physics, chemistry and engineering on the nanometre-scale, and the Johnson Matthey Technology Centre through their aberration-corrected electron microscopy facility located at the DIAMOND Light Source at Harwell near Oxford. The new transmission electron microscope (TEM) enables atomic-resolution imaging of individual nanoparticle catalysts during the process of a chemical reaction inside a cell located in the heart of the microscope.
Eligibility
Candidatesย must normally holdย an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level orย Master’s degree with Merit (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University) inย Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or similar relevant science discipline.
English Language requirements:ย If applicable โ IELTS 6.5 overall (with at least 5.5 in each individual component) or Swansea recognised equivalent.
Due to funding restrictions, this scholarship is open to applicants eligible to pay tuition fees at the UK rate only, as defined byย UKCISA regulations
Benefits
This scholarship covers the full cost of UK tuition fees and an annual stipend of ยฃ17,668.
Additional research expenses will also be available.
